Parish Meeting

The Parish Meeting

Too small to merit being a full-blow Parish Council, West Haddlesey has a Parish Meeting.

Day to day administration of village affairs is in the hands of a Chairman, who more often than not gets the Clerk to do the actual work, whilst all financial matters are left in the hands of the Treasurer as she’s the only one who is any good with numbers.

There are two main meetings, to which all those who live and work in the village are invited to attend, and which are generally held in the nearest pub which, at the moment, is The Jug Inn in Chapel Haddlesey, in May and November of each year.

Minutes of previous meetings dating back to 1989 are available below, as are the annual financial returns of the parish back to 2006.

When he remembers, or when someone complains that he hasn’t done one for a while, the Clerk puts out a sporadic newsletter, copies of which are available online here.
